2001 Ford Expedition
Symptoms:
1. Passenger side window won't go down (maybe unrelated?).
2. Climate control display is blank.
3. Blower stays on max setting.
Any ideas how to troubleshoot this code?
Did these problems all appear at once or one after another over a period of time?
All at once.... Yesterday, my wife called and said the vehicle wouldn't stay idling once started and that the blower was running on max. I recalled that I had a simliar issue three years ago with the vehicle not idling and it turned out being a bad Idle Air Control valve. So I picked up an IAC last night and installed it. After that, I was able to start the vehicle and it would idle. In fact, I drove it into town last night after replacing the IAC, but the other issues still remain - blower on max, climate control display blank and passenger window not working.
The max blower and blank display issues I can see being related to maybe say the blower speed control or switch. But the window is throwing me off, unless the window motor was bad prior and no one noticed until the HVAC acted up making them attempt to lower the window.
yes, we have had a lot of rain lately. what does this have to do with the issue?
Expeditions are know for a leak in the lower driver's side windshield. The leak in turn drips onto the fuse box and GEM, wreaking all kinds of electrical havoc.

So it sounds like this may be something to have a professional check out rather than trying to track down the issue on my own?
It depends on your level of experience and comfort with diagnosing something like that. If you're apt to second-guess yourself, then yes have a pro take a look and at least give you an opinion.
