Cab removal??

trying to lift cab off frame for frame off restoration. only thing left is the steering wheel. I loosened the bracket just above the steering box, and have removed the bracket bolts to the bottom of the dash board. Is there a trick to get the column seperated from the steering box??

1959 f100 4x4

thanks

Marc

If it was me, I'd remove the whole thing as an assembly. I'm not as to the construction of the 59, but it's likely the same as earlier 48-52 trucks. I'd unbolt the steering box with the column still attached and remove it through the opening in the cab.

Marc the shaft is solid into the gearbox. you can remove the box and shaft with the cab or drop the box and shaft then the cab or some other combo.
