hmmm I have the same gasket from them (soak in water) and now have second thought's on use'n it??? I dont want to have to redo stuff for 15 years!!!
what intake/exhaust gasket is everyone use'n instead?
Yup, the Mr. Gasket #260 is what I'd recommend. Used FelPro and Clifford and the 260 is by far the best. The only tough part is to find a place on the internet that doesn't charge more to ship it than the gasket costs.
Absolutely, it was the cast in coolant chamber that sold me on Clifford. But I'll take a second look at the Offy now.
I didn't mean this thread to be Clifford bashing session, so I thought I would chime in here. There is nothing wrong with most of the cliff. products, although they are expensive. I've never heard anyone put down his intakes or headers, for example. I'd say to go ahead and get a cliff. manifold, but I would buy it on ebay for about half what he sells it new for.
I believe the main gripe I hear regarding C.P. is that his tech support sucks. Although Larry, the guy who runs the show, once worked for the legendary Jack Clifford, (capacity unknown) he certainly is neither a mechanic nor Aero Space engineer as Jack was.
I guess my advise would be to do your own research, or ask a qualified mechanic, not Clifford Performance.
I'm not sure if you guys are still keeping up on this thread. I'm new to the site but not new to Ford 6's.
On your exhaust gaskets....there is only one way to go. Get a Remflex graphite gasket. I have a 66 Mustang with a 200-6 and Clifford headers. All of the Mr. Gasket and any other brand of header gaskets that I could find would burn out after a couple thousand miles. The Remlfex has been in there for 5 years now without any issues!
I'm in the restoration stages on a 1952 Ford F2 & I'm thinking of dropping a 300-6 and a more modern trans into this thing.
Wow, I never knew that existed. That looks pretty nice.
Neither did I. Maybe us inline guys have been shouting loud enough for other companies to listen. I just posted a thread to let everyone know. Hopefully other co's will follow suit.
Imagine...Summit with hp kits, forged pistons and cranks, trick heads....

I certainly hope so. I think as more and more work trucks are being "upgraded", the 300s are going to enthusiasts who want to build them up and do something with them.

i have ordered there cam shaft and double carb kit and i have not had a problem at all. and all my friends have ordered the same thing and it has ran great with no problems. it increased my torch and horse power massively and i love it.
I'm happy their parts worked well for you. However, I began this thread b/c there had been several reports, from multiple forum members, that the Clifford cams were bad and shredded bearings like a cheese grater. That is why I began this thread. Maybe Cliff has the issues resolved. I don't know. But for my money, I will go where I know 200% that the parts will last 100k miles and more.
