I'm installing a set of Light Force driving lights. Anyone know of a convenient tap wire for the high beams inside the cab near the fuse box? 01 F250 SD
Why cant you tap into the high beam wire on the back of your headlight? Install a relay behind the grill there's a good spot on pass side behind the grill. u have to take the grill off to see theres 2 bolts that hold a bracket. i just used both of them ive got 2 pair lightforce 240 blitz hid.u cant miss the bolts that way u dont have to run wires through your firewall thats how i did it works great.i also installed a 30 amp fuse on the main battery wire going to the relay. havent had any issues. hope that helps

Maybe I'm missing something, but from what you are describing it sounds like your lights always come on with your high beams?
I'm installing a 3 way switch in the cab, one side routed to a hot wire, the other to a high beam wire. That way I can select whether I want the lights to come on for auxilliary illumination (such as when plowing), or to be switched with the high beams for driving.
Anyway, by tapping the high beams in the cab I only need to run one wire to the relay in the engine compartment instead of two - thus I only use up one customer access wire instead of two!
You are correct about my lights coming on with my high beams. I dont do much plowing in Alabama so i didnt see the need in a 3 way switch but it is a very good idea. as for your wiring question, i have no idea sorry i couldnt help. it might be easier just to tap into the wire behind of your headlight. if u are already running one wire through your firewall you could run 2 just as easily but its all up to you. if i find anything about your post i will be sure to let you know.
