vac boost gauge

Was wondering if you had a vac boost gauge and it read into the vac areawould that be helpful in determining you have a air leak. Just wondering since that wouldn't be a bad idea as I'm looking to install some gauges finally.

There is no vacuum on a diesel. It will always read zero or boost.

Are you talking about monitoring the vacuum pump?

Not really but read on here that someone used it to determine they had a leak on the intake seal where the orange boots go into the intake. Just thought if there was a leak there it may read on the vacuum side due to loss of boost pressure reading from the map sensor line.

theirs no throttle body so there for the most vac you could possibly ever see is the restriction of the air filter.

Well I just won it on e-bay for 5.50 so that's not bad for an autometer gauge.

We have vacuum, but its created from a pump.

The best a Vacuum gauge would do is tell you if your pump is going bad.
