It's time to replace the shocks on my 2004 F350 crew cab 4x4 dually so here is the question. What shocks would you recomend? I do a lot of towing and hauling. I have been looking at the Bilstein 5100's but just don't know if they are worth the money. I should also add that it has a stock ride height.
I put the Bilstein Heavy Duty on mine and like them. Cant say they are better than anything more than the worn out stock ones I had. Lots of posts on shocks if you do a search.
Get the Bilsteins. You won't regret it. I added them as an option when I got my 4" Superlift kit for my 2002 F350 SRW 4x4 CC SB. Well worth it. The ride was great. Controlled the stiffer springs like no other shock could do.
I just put the bilsteins on my 04 f250. definitely worth the money. besides, you could spend more for the ranchos which are garbage. bilsteins are a solid shock and not the most expensive ones out there.
If you are not into off road driving, hauling huge loads, or towing heavy trailers then go with the Monroe Gas Magnums.
If you do the above go with the Rancho XLs. A huge advantage that they have over other shocks is their adustability.
The Bilsteins are stiff shocks. A feature you can have with the Rancho XLs if you need it. You just turn the ***** to tighten up the suspension. When you are just cruising around town you can back off the settings to a more comfortable ride.
