I have the same problem with my 2000. I checked out the service bulletins and found there is one. It is number 14365. I don't know what it says, but it seems to apply to this case.
If anyone can get a copy of the bulletin that would be of great help.
Thanks
I have a 97 with the 5.4L, I have had the squeal sound for almost 2 years, It all started just before my power searing pump went, So I had the power steering pump replaced, It continued to squeal, so I have had the belt replaced, and the belt tensioner, I still have the squeal, So like once a month I put some belt spray on the belt, The squeal goes away,
I have a 99 with 100000 miles and no squeals or piston slap. just a small exhaust leak on the pass side for about 3 seconds then it goes away. I would remove the belt and inspect everything the belt goes around. If it all checks out ok Start it with the belt off and see if the noise is still there . You can run it for a few min. (5 min.) with the belt off.
I have the same intermittent squeal on my 2000 Nav when it's cold--doesn't last long . Jetjock46---I can't find that TSB on AllData. Has anyone found the TSB 14365 that he refers to??? Any idea what it says??

That's all I've gotten so far. I can't find the full text of it for free, and don't have the cash to pull it up. Looks like a trip to the dealer is in order, to see if they can give me a print out of it.
