well I took posession of the truck on thursday last week. Drove it so far 100 miles I knew it was low at first but I didnt think it was really really low until the clutch fan stayed on non stop for maybe 50 miles on my way home from Disneyland and the needle went past half way a couple times then I just put it in cruise control at 65mph. Got home around midnight parked it and went to Napa the next morning and bought a gallon of gold coolant, I didnt even see a sign of coolant, today on my way to work I stop and buy another gallon I put it in and still no sign. when I get to work I dumped a gallon of distilled water and finally got it to the cold line mark. Went to the bank got acheese burger came back to the office and took the pics I just posted and yes the coolant level dropped down to where its almost not even visible, I think we all know why based on that pic I posted....
there is tsb's out on the venturi valve and for hyper thermostats. Both can cause the radiator to go. I had 2 replaced because of these. So just replaceing the raditator may not solve the problem

that is what the Tech said today, He said when the thermostat fails it creates air pockets and creates cavitations in the water pump housing also. He showed me an old housing with the cavitations from another 6.4 . Sounds like they know whats going on.
I got to test drive the 2011 6.7 diesel, for the price tag I dont know... the only difference I felt right off the back was a nice punch in acceleration out of the hole once on the freeway it wasnt much different. What I really LOVED was the seat coolers man were those comfy. My A$% felt nice and cold.
got it back today. Had a new radiator, thermostats, and water pump front cover installed under warranty and now I have a 12month/12,000mile warranty on the repairs. Hauled A## on the way home to see if it would leak, coolant stayed right at the cold mark line so far.

You should be good to go now. I've been fine. I hope they didn't charge you a $100 deductable. Mine did this past spring. I called Ford and they said no deductable. He then called my dealer and I got a check coming back.
Ruschejj- Thanks for the compliment I miss my Excursion everyday but it was time for me to move on. A radiator every 35k isnt very comforting lol.
Capt-Caper- No I didnt pay them any deductable and they even gave me a rental which was great.
Senix- Thanks for the tip and contribution to my thread. Checking the coolant level on my vehicles has become pretty much a Habbit for me now after the 6.0 lol
First Tow for me tonight with my Car hauler and then taking the boat out this weekend to Long beach harbor to see the Queen Mary Firework show from the water. Possibly even go to Catalina island for Lunch and a drink depending on the weather .
