Over drive AC Pump

Anybody ever overdriven a AC Pump on an 7.3. Did the shim delete on my
AC the other day and noticed that the ware was getting in to the riverts for release spring.

Thanks
Richard

Over driving as in, using a larger crank pulley or a smaller clutch pulley? Or as far as installing the pulley/clutch on the shaft?

As in installing a smaller pulley and clutch kit on the compressor.

So, in reality that is an overdrive kit due to the smaller pulley, not an underdrive kit as it is advertised.

The claims "more HP and "cooler A/C" are not compatible. You get cooler A/C by spinning the compressor a little faster, but it takes MORE engine power to do this.

So undersizing the pulley spins the compressor faster makes cooler air but
robs engine of power. Sounds like this is not what I want, just need to go back with stock setup, It's worked for me so far.

Anybody have any ideas on a fully charged A/C system intermittently going warm? I have to turn off the air for a few minutes while driving and then it blows cool for a few minutes. Repeat as necessary. Thanks!

Yes, you are describing the symptoms of a compressor clutch set too wide, or worn too wide.

Take a look here:
