I have a 03 Eddie Bauer Ex that I recently bought. I pulled the overhead console to repair the computer. It took a week or so to put it all back together.
Before I pulled the console both rear vent windows worked. Now that its all back together the passsenger side rear vent window doesnt work now. I am thinking I must have damaged the connector or the swith while it sat on my dinner table somehow. Or maybe I dont have it connected right. I have pulled it twice to reseat connectors to no avail. Based on it working before, I do not believe the motor is the problem.
Anyone have any recommendations on ways to test the switch/connector or even the motor? Or a wiring diagram that I can use to try to figure it out?Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
I can just barely hear a soft click coming from the rear of the truck when I hit the switch. I guess it is stuck. I will try to get one of my guys to hit the switch for me while I tap the arm back there and see if that helps.
Yep, the truck is on. The drivers side works, just not the passenger side. And mine, at least the driver's side, works in ACC also.I havent had time to try tapping it yet. Been a crazy day
If it's stuck, the weatherstripping holds it pretty good and a few taps won't cut it. You'll need more of a firm push to unstick it from the stripping.
Same here, the seal is like a suction cup, When I did finally open it, I took a clean rag and sparyed it with some Fluid Film and wiped the seals with it real good and sparingly, has worked like top since then.
ive tried the silicone on the seal method....didnt work too long...i noticed the motor..to make a tight seal...travels over center to really pull the glass tight.....i told my wife lets try to not let the motor completely close the glass....make a good seal but not gove over center on rotation...see if that will make a difference
You need to keep the seals lubed with an anti-stick like ATF etc. Mine won't always open unless it is running. I can't depend on them. Another "worser idea" by Ford.
i love them windows, open them and it gets that summer heat out right away as your moving.. i think its one of the coolest features.
Agree !
I will usually leave the drivers side wing window open and crack the rear pass window
so when parked during these Texus furnace days... there is a bit of cross ventilation.
and by turning the rear on hi and the front air auto...
the remote start will get the ac pushng the heat out while I'm heading back to the truck.
