Prices typically $500-700. I got lucky and bought mine for $300 the correct gear ratio that included everything from the springs down except drive shaft that I am looking for now. Bonuses better tire wear less u joints cooler looking

Its also a solid STOUT axle that can take the abuse and punishment you could dream of throwing at your rig! LOL!

$500-$700, where are you buying them, I'll snag 2 of them for what they are usually going for in CA. Cheapest I have seen around here is $900 and that was just the axle, none of the other stuff.

Plus side of having a D60 is its one tough @** axle and it looks really cool under our trucks. Also you will greatly reduce tire wear and you won’t have to replace your pivot bushing every 2000 miles like a buddy of mine had to. You will have a rougher ride but I say the above positive things out way a rough ride. You have to shop around for a good price. If you want one right now you can get them off eBay for $1200. If you have time one your hands you can do what I did. I found a 1986 ford truck with a KPD60 that had starting issues and I bought it for $800. I but the 60 under my truck and but my axle under it and then put a new flex plate in the donor truck and did so electrical work and sold the truck for $700. So I got a KPD60 and new nerf bars for $150, flex plate was $50.

You may spend more in the short term to upgrade to a D60, or not depending on what you find, but the long term if you keep the truck, you will end up spending less maintaining the D60 than the TTB D50, less bushings, less u-joints, better tire wear. Better axle!

I did it and don't regret it period! Also, I everything bolted in including my driveshaft, so I spend $600 on everything which was cheaper than rebuilding my existing 230k mile D50 and I got a front sway bar and rid of the troublesome auto hubs....so it was a no-brainer to me.

It was mentioned a rougher ride....if you can also get the F350 springs or do a RSK with SD springs it will ride better than stock F250 springs, if you use the stock F250 springs and a D60 it will ride horrible....so at least get the F350 springs, but I would recomend the RSK SD springs, which is what I am getting ready to convert to.

That's all pretty interesting to hear. It does seem like a no-brainer. I have two D50's. Sorry for hijacking but how much does a D50 normally go for? And what does TTB stand for? I'll ask in another thread if you prefer.

I am having a hard time finding a 350 drive shaft. I have a few more yards to call though.

Yes, you need, springs, sway bar, sway bar brackets, trac bar, trac bar bracket etc... get as much as you can.

Here is where I put the D60 and related parts into mine last year..... For those that have done a D60 swap on F250 - Page 3 - Powerstroke Nation
