Just did some yesterday, both with my new Nokia cellphone and my old 8mm Sony camcorder. Guess which came out better? the 8mm camcorder
Did some slow driving around captures, and then a drive by at WOT while my son stood on the roadside. I'll try to get them up this weekend, but have to reinstall some video editting software to capture the DV from the camcorder and translate to something I can post.
I will also post pics of how the job came out overall. In the process, I used copper RTV on the collectors at the y-pipe-to-header connections, and quieted down an exhaust leak I had which helped a WHOLE LOT - possibly it made the O2 sensors read more accurately because I seem to be using less gas lately. We'll see how that goes after I do a datalog with the SCT X3, I was running like -2% fuel trims at idle before this work was done, we'll see what it's running now.
This may or may not work - gotta have speakers with some BASS - my laptop speakers do NOT do this justice. There is a lot more low-end sound than my laptop is providing right now.
No, that's all right foot. I think there was one case where I actually put some brake into it, and it might be right around there, but it didn't do anything that the right foot would do all by itself. All the other "chirps" and "barks" and "squeels" are right foot. And the Nittos are at around 50 lbs of pressure all around.
That's with 285/75R16 nitto highway dura grapplers, and 3.73 gears. I hate to think what I could do with 4.30's, or more likely, the 4.56's I'd like to do (sooner or later).
Excellent, do you think it flows better then the stock muffler?
I didn't notice any difference in overall power. NONE. I think the stock muffler is NOT a problem except for sound.
I noticed a pickup in low-end torque right off-idle, but that's because I sealed up a leak(s) at the header collectors with copper RTV. It was pretty leaky before. It seems that in any vehicle I ever owned, an exhaust leak before the cat, the closer to the engine the more pronounced, it seemed to help low-end RPM and low-end throttle response. Maybe it's the lack of noise that makes me think that.

And the weird thing is, the Volant CAI intake is what made that happen. When I first put it in, I started "barking" the 285/75R16 Goodyear Silent Armors I had at the time. Same piece of road too. Not that it does much overall, I just noticed it like to "bark" the tires after the Volant was installed.
hmmm, that pretty much comfirms my truck is having a power issue then..
right now i dont think i could make my truck chirp the tires with a full brake stand..
air filter and fuel filter freshly changed but i suspect my plugs are due and my coils might be originals with over 220K miles..gunna swap out all my plugs/cops and boots..
getting tired of thinking the truck is working to hard..oddly i have no CELs but i can "feel" something has changed.. she just isnt running the same way..
Thanks Art, for the vid.Couldn't keep from watching the fuel gauge drop 1/8 of a tank. Thanks again.
Rick
I wasn't even watching! I have the small tank, it only takes 24 gallons from low-fuel-light-on to full. However, it doesn't move THAT fast, I noticed that after a few romps it reads low, and then recovers a bit when I slow down - all that sloshing around
Been researching exhaust threads and found this and may try it. Krewat do you make any braket to hang the muffler from factory clips? Magnaflows web picture showed the inlet offset and outlet centered, opposite of what you did. Does this make any difference? Thanks
