The 2011 bed is not the same... it may bolt up but the body lines are different and would probably look odd with pre 2011 fenders.
To be a little more clear!
The body line is the same however the wheel opening is shaped different, and will not mirror the pre 2011 front fender wheel opening. Besides that there is one other thing about the 2011 beds that make me PUKE!
The Fuel door opening is twice the size of a standard fuel door opening to make room for the new diesel exhaust fluid (urea) tank.
IMO Ford should have made two different beds for the gas and diesel trucks. If you buy a gas truck you get the huge fuel door and a plug where the urea tank hole is. How stupid!

Ford is known for using the same parts as many times as possible, why do you suppose the cab hasn't changed in 13 years?
That extra space in the fuel door on a gasser seems like a perfect place for an air hose hookup for on-board air to me. I foresee guys getting quite creative with what goes in that space...

Im usually all for reusing the same part for many years! It helps bring the price down on the aftermarket repair parts and such.
And Im sure that plenty of guys will come up with creative uses for the Xtra Large fuel door opening.
