I have a question....

I have 1991 F250 7.3 idi 5 speed single cab long bed 4x4 with 33's and 16.5in wheels. Love the **** out of it. It has a sidewinder banks turbo on it only tuned to push 10psi of boost. I'm wanting to turn up the fuel a little on it so I can puff more black smoke out. Is this a safe idea with the turbo on there? Or will this be a bad idea. And how will it effect my trucks performance/fuel mileage???

You actually don't want the extra black smoke - it's excess fuel that wasn't burnt off completely, apart for poor fuel economy it makes for higher combustion temperatures inside the cylinders which can really nicely melt your pistons down

ok you want the black smoke for what reason?black smoke only gets you lower mpg and higher egt's which can result in melted pistons.the idi group here trys to avoid the black smoke when your at wide open throttle and hazing black you are topped out on power.black smoke is the fuel the truck COULDNT burn the only way to really achieve more power is to stud the motor and turn the fuel and boost up.if all your wanting is black smoke you probably wont get much as far as advice.if you do decide you wanna blow smoke all over town trying to draw attention you better install a pyrometer
