Power steering

Hey guys, I just got my truck back on the road after 4 months of extensive body work and I'm noticing the power steering is almost none at idle while sitting still. If I gouge the go pedal, it seems fine. The tires are 315s. It's really a PITA to move around and was hoping y'all could give this some thought.

Make sure you have enough fluid. Might be a good time for a pump flush with fresh ATF.

What is X3/X4? Can I get it at a parts store? How much will I need? How do I flush the system thoroughly? Thanks!

Frond damage and did they remove / replace the ps pump? Maybe they put in power steering fluid instead of Transmission Fluid. Dump and replace, check tire pressure etc...

Oh, ten 4 on the X3/X4...lol, I was like WTF! Good call on the tire pressure too. I did all the body work myself, no mechanical damage but the driver's side sheetmetal was eaten slap off my truck by some trees and a sideways skid. Thanks again, I'll do the flush and TP check tomorrow and will check back in on here.

BAM! Fluid flush with mobil 1 syn and it's good as new! I had a small whine in the pump when I started and I heard it disappear. Thanks again Enthusiasts for fixin' my truck! I'm doing brake fluid flush in the morning since I now am a firm believer in fresh fluids.

You should look in to getting some "speedbleeder" It sure makes changing brake fluid easy..

I recently had my power steering flushed. It greatly improved the steering as well as braking response.
