Hi new to site as a member love all the helpful info thanks guys, I have a 2003 v10 4x4 extended cab short bed stock i pull a 6000lbs camp trailer and a car trailer with a little kubota once and a while, I have good power but like most guys want more, I just order a K&N cai, a flowmaster cat back, and e3 sparkplugs , and of coures Mikes FIVESTAR TUNNING. Going to install this weekend if i get all my parts if not then next weekend. I will post my experience and if a $1000 bill is worth it or not.

Screw the K&N, and I haven't heard of anybody really gaining with the plugs, unless your are old. I'd also throw a pair on Banks TorqueTubes in there as well.

I have the K&N FIPK kit on my 2004 cc v10 4x4 with FM 70, SPD Y pipe and Hypertech Max Energy tuner, wish it were a five star tuner, but the tuner came with my truck. This set up will walk away from my brother in laws stock v10 cc 4x4,(both are 3.73 geared) night and day differance. Can't say which part helped the most but it all works pretty good together, and if Mike said it would work good together, I would listen from what I have seen on this site he knows the V10.

The K&N intake helps some in the upper rpms but its not very noticable. Good thing you got the tune because you will want it with the intake. I'm not impressed with the E3 plugs, especially since they have no platium on them and are chinesse plugs. They will probably wear pretty quick.

Headman headers have excellent fit and include a nice y pipe. Bolts right up and o2 sensor goes in collector, not an individual runner, for a true reading. Only problem is the collectors have loosened up on me but was told all headers need retorqued after a few hundred miles. $600 through Summit. Includes studs but I used the locking bolts, Clips suck to get on but no loosening up there so well worth it.

Never tried them in a Modular myself. Have run NGK in a lot of small engines, but they were designed with the NGK plugs in mind as OE equipment. The MC and Autolite plugs work great so if it ain't broke don't fix it.

I run the ford motorsport headers on my v-10 and they have been fine I also am running the offroad y-pipe the factory convertor and a custom magna-flow exhaust duels. I am also running a transgo shift kit, and I have drilled under the grille for the air box and modified the air box. I runs good and I have gotten 17-18 mpg with this set up 3.73 gears, it gets about 12 towing a 7500lb boat @ 62mph

Best I ever got was 14 on highway until headers. Got 17 at 70 mph in hilly SW Pennsylvania this weekend. Dropped to 13 at 80 mph on way home.

Have not towed anything heavy yet with headers. Towing was as low as 7-8 with 10k lbs.

I ran some tightly-controlled tests, all on the same day, using the SCT X3 tuner's datalogging feature w/Livelink. Same stretch of road, etc. etc.

I already had a Volant CAI (click on the link in my sig to read more about that), ebay headers, ebay y-pipe, stock 3.73 gears with 285/75R16 tires.

Completely bone-stock tune, 0-60 was 10.0 seconds, did at least 5 runs on the same stretch of road, each time got the same results.

Uploaded Mike's 5-star 87 octane performance tune.

Same stretch of road as above, same day, same ambient temperature, everything.

Got 9.02 and 9.04 0-60 times, again at least 5 runs, every time, it came back as almost a FULL SECOND off the 0-60 time.

A combination of engine tune, and shifting strategies, it made a HUGE difference.

I will say, however, that the e-bay headers did help with the high-end power, and Volant CAI also gave a small improvement, and the ebay y-pipe mod made low-end light-throttle performance much better.

So all together, my truck is much different than what it was, and NO LOSS IN LOW-END torque that I can tell. Pulling loads, tree stumps, you name it, it's still all good.

I would suggest some reading in the V10 forum
