Having issues!!!!!

Hey guys need help, my 07 powerstroke is acting up. When driving down the road at 65 to 75 sometimes stutters slightly. I cleaned the egr valve today and have had the cooler capped for awhile it only does it every once in awhile. Any clues that could help me?

Is it like a surge, or a stutter? Does the turbo change pitch at all during the stutter? Check engine light yet?

Yes to the check engine light but codes are egr. More of a stutter not really a surge. Turbo sounds the same no pitch of any kind. only happens when maintaining speed.

What cooler and what do you mean by "capped"? Do you mean the EGR cooler?

I am asking because of the issue you posted about.

So you have capped the exhaust gas to the EGR cooler and left the coolant flowing through it AND you still have an EGR valve in place that required cleaning? If that is correct, where did you cap off the exhaust flow?

My questions are only so that I can better understand what you have.

uhmm i bought the truck about 4 mounths ago and the guy told me that the egr had been capped I got up under and looked to see where and it is right at the back of the intake where the cooler goes into the tube that goes into the turbo. So he put new up pipe in. But, I am not for sure if I still needed to clean the EGR valve but since the code came up for it I decided to pull it and clean it just for sure. I have been told that I can weld it but not sure about that figured that when I get a programmer I would take care of it then.

Dont know fuel pressure. Checked oil it is at the correct level. Uhmm pretty much cruise when it starts I can accelerate and it will go away or can slow down does the same. But, does it if I have the cruise on or just maintaing speed by the pedal.

Almost sounds more like a drivetrain imbalance when in decel or when it is floating with very little load. Usually accel and decel cause that problem though, not an unloaded floating drivetrain at cruise.

Sounds like an injector without the corresponding cause! It might have to be one of those fell and hear it to someone to tell you for sure, especially without alot of information from the ECM.
