Does anyone else not wonder about the brakepad hold down springs being missing, the retainer springs missing, the parking brake adjuster spring incorrectly attached? I have never seen this arrangement and I have 2 79 f150's. Please refer to the pics from Jade. This is flat out dangerous...
Looking at the Ford Shop Manual the brake shoes are orentated correctly. I have a Web Ledge Design that where used for E-250, E-350, F-250 (4X2) And (4X4), F-350. Which is what I have. (F-350 4X4) The half ton brakes are completely different and more of a conventional design.
I will investigate the lack of parking brake action more this weekend and bleed off the MC. After all it is Fathers Day and my wife can't make me do Honey-Do's so it's time to play.

I agree, the pads/springs orientation is correct in your pic.
Maskedman, I took your advise and learned something new. Jade's photo was of the light duty brakes, the origional posted is for heavy duty brake system. This threw me for a loop. My two trucks are obviously of the light duty type. I didn't even know they made two different systems. Thanks for the advise!!!
My wife still managed to thwart my Fathers Day weekend plans but I managed a few hours of work. I bench bleed the MC until ALL the bubbles where gone. I kept the reservoir full and my tubes in while I re-Installed the MC. Then I bleed the whole system again with one kid on the brake, the other filling the reservoir and myself under the truck.
The brakes still do the same thing. They will be nice and hard when pushed then slowly they will get spongy. Although this is my 3erd Master Cylider I am now convinced this one is bad. My next step is to buy a NEW MC from a real parts shop like Napa or AC Delco and not a re-built.
