Update on My electrical gremlins

Ok I am back from my graduation trip and I have my AE back. So I hooked it up to my truck today and ran some more tests. When I try to pull the codes, on the main screen on the AE it says that there is no response from the GEM module. This is giving me clues that the GEM is bad. Before I am going to buy anything new from the dealer I wanted to see if there are any used ones on the internet. Is it possible that any of these will work??
