I have a slight dilemma with my truck. Last night I was laying in bed and all of the sudden my horn started going off. I ran outside to find my horn stuck on. It smelled like something was burning inside the truck. So i disconnected the batteries as quick as i could and went back inside. This morning i hooked the batteries back up and the horn did the same thing. I then took out the fuse and relay under the hood for the horn. Now I dont have windshield wipers, 4wd, windows, and my key fob doesn't work. I checked the relay and it seems to be good. ANY IDEAS!!!!!
Did you find your electrical problem yet ... if you smelled like something was burning then something must have gotten pretty hot. Have you check the horn button on the steering wheel maybe it's shorted.
havent found anything yet. I have the lower dash removed and will check again in the morning. I am thinking that I have had a wiring harness behind the cluster that got hot and melted some wires together and that is where i am getting the constant hot for the horn. I will update if I find anything.
ok i have an update!! I have not found any burned wiring under the dash. It seems that the GEM module has gotten wet and has shorted out. But i am also thinking that it could be in the fuse block as well. ISince it is a dealer part only i checked at the local dealer and found out that the GEM module is 490.00 which is crazy!!! I think I am going to try to order it from Ed on here to save me some money. Does it sound like I am on the right track.
I got to thinking and i think I am going to try to replace the fuse block first since there seems to be some corrosion. If that doesnt fix it than I will have to replace the GEM module. But i am going out of town on my college graduation trip to yellowstone so my truck will be sitting until the 1st of june.

Okay, I am sorry, I have to admit, all I thought was "damn, his truck has to wait"
