Switch could be your radio (one will be always on for clock and memory on will be switched on)

looks liek you want the black and red probes in the holes that are the same color
if I'm seeing right in that tiny video the part of the dial to the top is for reading resistance and the part to the right of that should be DC voltage. you'll want the 20 volt setting for your charging system tests
The ~ means AC, Joe. The solid line above the dashed line means DC. So to test volts, you'd want DC 20.
Also, on the top portion of the dail from the o))) below the "horseshoe shaped symbol" (Ohms) to the 20M is what you use to test resistance. The o))) is the continuity setting, which makes a beep when there is very little resistance.
NOTE: ALWAYS disconnect power source (battery) of item being tested when testing ohms!
