I don't wonder if the new power watzit fails will it set fire to my car...remember the ignition failins..or high priced 17 inch tires..sorry but I just can't see a new ford in my driveway.. unless it's the cop's again telling me to stop haveing fun with my toy's..SO... is this normal??
According to Merriam-Webster, it can mean: a : according with, constituting, or not deviating from a norm, rule, or principle b : conforming to a type, standard, or regular pattern
If you feel that getting a new Ford deviates from your norms, rules, or principles, then yes, I'd say that feeling is "normal". There are those who consider deviation "normal". The rest of us are just abnormal deviants...
All my vehicles are older - partly because of the reasons you listed, and partly because I don't have to worry about any ridiculous car loan payments - they're already paid off My Fury had a computer (Lean-Burn) but it's been bypassed and removed from the equation - now, if I can figure out how to remove all 3 catalytic converters (why Chrysler decided to put 3 cats on a car is beyond me)...

Which Ford are you referring to that they are offering you $3300 for? Everything you own newer than your '79 is full of electronics, provided they haven't been tampered with. I'm not sure I get your point.
Now, if everything you owned was pre mid seventies, then I could agree with you. But then Ford wouldn't try to entice you with a $3300 bribe on a 2010 model.
Our dealer here is offering ridiculous discounts on new Superdutys. I think $12,000 or more. I know that still leaves $40,000 or so for the new one, but still, I'd bet that someone could get the dealer to show $3300 on pretty much any trade-in... on paper.
If they are willing to give $3300 cash for my truck I'd take, definitely wouldn't want a new Ford any anything else new for that matter.
Me personally have had major issues with every computer controlled vehicle I've owned except Dodge Trucks, their cars are horrible. I'm going back to the early 60's for a daily driver, something with two wires in the engine compartment, no vacuum lines, and no emisions crap.
Ah the lean burn, great system in theory and most likely good when it works, never seen one that works though. I always rip that system out, put in a different dist and put on a 4 brl intake. Seems to work much much better that way.

I think it would make you feel better and keep the wife off your back if you gave me that 428 powered Ranchero.
Shipping info to follow, always glad to help out a fellow Ford guy!
