I recently purchased a 2002 F350 w/ 7.3 PS diesel. I want to determine the rear gear ratio, but the door sticker is wore off. I pulled these numbers off the differential tag:
I am confident it has never been changed. I thought Ford may have put some 4.10's in some of the F350's but maybe just in the V10's. Do you think the numbers 3L73 on the tag represent the gear ratio, by any chance?
Also if memory serves, you have a sterling rear end and a dana 60 front as apposed to pre-2002 models.
Can anyone confirm that for me?
3.73. Otherwise, yes the rest seems accurate. I do think that a few early 2002 models had Dana 50 front axles installed with leftover inventory from the past year.
