X-plan is a Ford partnership plan that they offer to stock holders and other organizations that have a partnership agreement with Ford. The price for Ford branded products is .4% above dealer cost and is clearly illustrated on the invoice. It also caps the dealer's doc fees at $75.00. It's a pretty sweet deal.
Truth be known, if your a savvy negotiator, you can come real close to X-plan.
You can get a good deal even without the x-plan. Some dealers won't give a price in line with the plan because they tend to think they are in the drivers seat.
Great thing about the plan is not haggling. I don't have time for that. If I am buying something I always have my money in hand and will be out of there in less than 2 hours.
Some of us can't bargain our way out of a paper bag, unfortunately. So the X-plan comes in handy for getting a decent price for the vehicle in question.

A person doesn't have to bargain. You get a print out form Edmunds (free), Consumer Reports($20) or use a car buying service such as costco, sams club, USAA insurance, etc. Take a piece of paper in the dealer and act like you know what's up and they'll buckle every time, if they're motivated.
I did just use my x-plan and I got a great deal. In and out in under 2.5 hours. I didn't get that thrill of defeat that I get from negotiating and winning. But I did negotiate for 1.9% financing and won that tiny battle.
