Guys I'm having alot of prolems with my 99 F350 SD, 7.3 PSD, 6 speed manual. Since I replaced the clutch 3 years ago, I wear out the small plastic clutch pedal to clutch linkage retainer clips. They have been lasting about 6 months to a year. After the big pop and the clutch pedal drops to the floor, I inspect the clip only to find the retaining clip wore almost in half. I've heard of manufactures making metal clips, and others selling much heavier hyme joint like fixes for sale on e-bay for the diesel clutches as the diesels use a much stiffer clutch than those used in gas trucks. I've been able to find NOTHING except FORD'S 6c3z-7a581-a retainers which are what I have been using.
A mechanic told me yesterday that they used to change alot of them, but haven't changed one in a long time. Just wondering if everyone found something better? Same mechanic also told me they have replaced entire clutch pedals as the studs on the pedals can wear and become oblong.
