Does anyone know what type of connectors are used in various plugs such as the EECIV? These connectors have round ends and are the female type. You may have encountered these if you have done a MASS air conversion.
I need to find out what these connectors are called and their specifications so I can buy some more of them. They are in most of the plugs that connect to the engine if you were to remove the wires from those plugs. Not really sure how to describe them any more or different.
If you want a place where you can just buy the pigtails for the random sensors, try here Ford Fuel Injection Products they have a lot of selection and are pretty reasonable. Hopefully this helps
Do you happen to know if these can be found in an auto parts store? I ask because 1) I need these before the weekend and 2) when I was at the auto parts store I thought I saw something similar but I didn't look too close because, at the time, I didn't need these.
(Thanks for the link, I can use that for reference)
An auto parts store MIGHT be able to special order them, but you're likely better off ordering them off the internet if you can. Most parts stores don't carry or can't get specialized connectors like that.
The connectors are called wedgelock and I found them at Pep Boys, only problem is that the female connector (which is the one I need) is too large. The package lists a size of 20-18. I tried fitting this on to my EECIV and they look to be one size too big. I have not found a place that has anything smaller. I have not tried that web site yet, I wanted to see if I could get them locally first.
Myself I cut what I needed out of the harness of another truck, added auto trans functions to a manual harness.
Got plenty of wire to work with so I could pick where to make my splices and soldered in the connections, rather then try reconnection to the pin itself, worked fine and was free.
Well I just got done looking over the installation and the good news is that I can do it this weekend without these connectors. I'll try NAPA, we have some around here. If they don't have them then I can go to a junk yard and get what I need like danr1 suggested. The only wires I need these connections for are optional controls so I can wait and find what I need.
