code questions
im new to the site. i just bought a 2000 ford 7.3 crew cab. but i had a couple of isues. found out the hard way the truck doesn t like water.lol
but it sat a awhile and the batteries died. the question is right after it broke down it didn t have any codes in the conputer. i drained the water out .and charged the batteries and now i have these codes.
p0231-fuel punp relay driver circuit failure
p0562-low voltage
p1690-wastegate control valve nalfunction
could low voltage (dead batts) cranking cause these codes. the truck is running fine. i think, its still new.
i was losing power and blowing white snoke. then it would run fine. and slowly got worse to the point it didn t stop. got it towed.
thanks
john
Second, yes, low voltage code can and usually is caused by low batteries and/or an alternator that is not charging like it should.
I would clear the codes and see if they come back, give it about 3 runs and check for the codes again.
Did you ever figure out why your truck was blowing white smoke?
