I picked up a somewhat low mileage 351w for my 86 F250. I took it apart before putting it in the truck, to check everything over and put all new gaskets in. The engine appears to have been rebuilt at some point and has a non-factory (i think) cam in it. It is a hydraulic flat tappet cam. On the back side it has 975052 stamped into it. It also looks like "WG" is stamped right above those numbers.
On the front side it has 351 1207 written on it.
The actual core has the following cast into it...
C3 D3
CWC 1207
I7 or 17
I6 (i think)
Do any of these numbers mean anything to anyone? I would call some manufactures but have no clue as to which one to call. I have googled the numbers and nothing pertinent comes up.
You can get a good idea of the cam specs if you happen to have a degree wheel and dial indicator, with the cam in the motor simple remove a pair of rockers and setup the dial indicator on the end of a pushrod, and then record lift and duration for the intake and exhaust. If the cam is out set it in V blocks and measure the cam lobes directly.
