YouTube - 1985 Ford Truck Commercial
When I looked at a powerstroke one time, the guy described it to me like this when we were talking about his duramax.
He loved his PSD, but the duramax was a better ride, but didn't compare to the PSD.
He told me he could haul his job trailer and the duramax in the bed of the truck, and it would still out pull the duramax.
haha.

I remember that commercial. I also remember thinking then that the engines and transmissions were probably removed from the two other trucks. I still think that.
Advertising and honesty are at odds in most cases. Look at the newer truck commercials; they are complete fantasy world commercials. Okay, most cars commercials are too. Jumping through flames, giant anvils or hammers swinging around, climbing CGI spiral mountains.
Oh, I love my Tivo. I skip every commercial possible. Haven't watched live teevee since the Sooperbowel. That's about the only time most commercials are worth watching. If they make youtoob, then that's okay, too.

one of my favorite ford commercial was on of a superduty dually pulling the icebreaker boat. just can't find it.

Watching some of the older videos Ford has been hauling & pulling the competition all over hell's half acre. Some o these commercials go back to the 50's. There is one commercial where not only are they carrying a Chevy but I think they are dragging two (2) Dodges up that same rocky road.

Naw, I don't think it's impossible either, but you can tell the way the truck is riding that it's weight is reduced. Looking good for the commercial was the intent. Loading it with real-world weights would likely cause it to struggle a bit more and slow it down. This would not look as polished for the ad.
It is still better than the new ads loaded with CGI.
