eBay Headers got cheaper

Looks like they are down to $180 w/ free ship. I guess that's a sign I need to buy them now. Just wanted to spread the info, hope some else can save a couple dollars too.

I paid $180 + shipping, so that's quite good.

I wouldn't bother with the hardware kit that comes with it - the bolts are no ways long enough for aluminum heads. I measured the depth of the hole, subtracted 1/4", took the thickness of the flange, plus whatever washers I was putting on, and came up with a bolt length to match. The bolts I used were WAY longer, like 1/2" or so, than what came in the kit.

Not sure what comes in the kit with the headers mentioned above, but seriously, do some checking before you use their kit.

I used grade 8 zinc-plated (galvanized) bolts and anti-seize.

...Maybe Krewat can help me out. I'm at work and eBay has been blocked(HOORAH Navy). Good thing though, keeps me honest with wife(well, mostly). It should be the same one Krewat bought, being sold by Speed_Daddy or something to that effect. I would definitely consider wrapping them and replacing the hardware.

This is one I found $180 w/free shipping, although there are others around the same price, maybe a buck or two cheaper, like $150+$28 shipping.

1999-2004 FORD F250 V10 MODULAR STAINLESS STEEL HEADERS: eBay Motors (item 170455258247 end time Jul-03-10 21:54:56 PDT)

If that's really the hardware included in the picture, those bolts are WAY TOO SHORT.

I paid 220 shipped for my kit, and threw out the hardware First Thing! I went with 8mx1.25 x35mm (I think) stainless bolts and lock washers. The 35mm bolts are WAYY longer than the cheesy hardware with the kit. (I did however use the supplied bolts for the header-to-downpipe connection).

Good Luck with your install Sailor

Stupid question about these headers. Is there any other modification I would need to make when installing these?? Or will they just bolt on to the factory exhuast? never installed headers before.

I honestly cannot see how on earth they can sell these that cheap! I mean try to find stainless headers for anything else that cheap. I paid $350 for the ceramic-coated headers on my Mustang and they didn't look anywhere near as good as these do, and they are for a much more common vehicle, so they SHOULD be less expensive. Anyone feel any real-world improvements with these headers?

They are probably made in Asia somewhere.(China, Taiwan and etc.) Dirt cheap wages over there, US manufacturing can't compete with the hourly slave labor rate they work for.

Exactly, and things like stainless steel can be manufactured without worrying about destroying the environment, or the people's health
