Very soon I need to invest in some seat belts for my truck to make it legal lol. One of the PO's installed bucket seats and took out the original bench seat (obviously) and the lap belts it came factory with. I've seen the 3-point belts that later trucks like mine came standard with and I want to use those to give it a factory look. I was looking on eBay Motors and there were very few for sale and they were very costly. Where can I find some cheap and how hard would they be to install in my truck? Thanks.
Ok thanks for the reply! That sounds like a reasonable price but i'm more looking for original seat belts than aftermarket ones to make it look like it came from the factory that way.
You mention using 3 point style from later model years in yours. Be advised that the cabs of these later model years are different to accept these 3 point safety belts. It will not be a direct bolt in swap.
Be prepared for some cutting and welding. The point where the seat belt attaches in the upper cab corner is in a large hole in the inside of the cab. If your truck didn't come with 3 point belts you'll have to cut and weld this in. It has been done and I'm sure there are pics out there, but just know it's not as simple as some may think.
Yeah I figured there was going to be some modifications. I plan on going to my local Pull-a-part and seeing if I can find some black seat belts and see how exactly it was installed from the factory. At my local Pull-a-part, they have at least 8 or 9 dentsides there, hopefully I can find some black 3-point belts.
