6.0 2004
6.0 2004
I am new to the site and new to diesels, Before this truck I had a 2000 350 crew/V10 , I brought home a 2004 6.0 power stroke turbo and it has an oil leak. It looks like its coming from some where on the upper back right side of the motor. Looks like its trailing down from above the starter housing. When I bought the truck it came with a repair invoice that said these things were just completed; oil filter, fuel filter, air filter, engine oil 15/40, grease, injection control module installed and programmed, 04-07 6.0 L injector, shop labor , tax . I know the person that I bought it from and it has never leaked before? The mileage on there invoice and what the truck reads now is 212536/212737 the repair shop is 124 away from where I bought the truck. Is this something that could have just started or may have something happened at the shop in their repair that could have caused this to start leaking ?<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com

Welcome to FTE 350crew4x4.
The first thing is how bad is the oil leak - can you quantify it?
Next, do you have an early or later model 2004? This is easiest determined by locating the ICP valve.
Early model year ICP:

The early model years have them under the turbo. When they leak, they can leak quite a bit down the fire wall on the passenger side.
The later model years have them on the passenger side valve cover, by the passenger side glow plug module.

There are actually many places that can leak. Most trucks will have a hanging drop of oil, but no spots on the driveway. The Tech Folder has a list of oil leak locations.
