No key pad on door

Hi folks, new to the site and I love it! I did some looking and did not find what I was looking for, I have a 98 navi with keyless entry (key fob) but I dont have a key pad on the door. Is this normal? can I get one from a parts Navi and will it be possible to make it work? If so how? Thanks again for the great site and info!!

It wasn't offered until 2000 (I think...could be off on year!).

My Mom's 97 Exped didn't have this as offering. My 00 had it. Not sure of first year.

Sounds like lots of trouble for a swap...have something against the key fob with buttons?

Yes, you should be able to buy a door pad and synch it with your key fob. I got one for my 99 Ranger.

Believe me, you will never use that door pad after a month or two as the key fob is or should be with you at all times. You will soon be so used to it you won't even think about the door pad.
