Another question! Our 99 Eddie Bauer has a place in the ceiling above the middle seats where there is a square carpeted cover. The Chevy dealer we bought this from was not real familiar with Expy's but assumed that it was for a TV. I opened it up and am not real sure what is up there. There is some "stuff" but I do not have an idea what it is! Would this be where you would install an entertainment console? I wonder maybe if there was one originally and it was removed maybe or are they all like this. Are the Expy's prewired for one? Also on the controls for the radio, cass, cd player there is a button that says DSP and something else. What the heck is this? Thanks for any help, Ive got a million questions, but one things for sure I fall more in love with the Expedition every time I drive it!

Hmm. Can you post a pic somewhere of the patch you are talking about. The EB is supposed to have rear air control about where you are talking about. I guess that it is possible that you are missing some factory equip. Does your EB have a sunroof? I've had a 99 Expy EB for a couple years now so I am fairly familiar with it, so try to post more detail. As for the DSP it stands for (digital signal processor) It is a little computer chip that can optimize the sound for the driver or rear seats or passenger. This is more easy to follow if you play with the DSP button on the right side of the adio. Also, a little tip. You can press the #3 and #5 buttons together (check the owners manual on this) to enable/disable the rear radio controls.

Congrats on your new truck. We luv ours!

Well, I think that the stuff that is up there is for the power moonroof. When you slide it open a bolt in the middle of this thing spins. So much for my idea that it was for a TV! Another question though! My Explorer had a power moonroof but did not have this in the ceiling. Are all Expys with this option like this or do you think this was an aftermarket thing? Do any of you know if there is a way to know what came on a particular vehicle from the factory and what was done after?

Do all Expys with power moonroof have that hole? My husband is worried that it was an aftermarket job and says that you hear of them leaking alot? I just thought that it was wierd to have that hole there since my Explorer with the same option did not. Do you with the power moonroof have the same hole?
