99 F250 problem

99 F250 problem
It's a 99 F250 with 148k miles and a 5.4. The ac blows fine thru the vents but upon acceleration it will switch to the defroster on its own. Also when the truck is first started up it'll surge and want to die until it's warmed up.

dpfe could cause the surging, but would not effect the vacuum / defrost vent controls. Most likely it's a vacuum leak in those control lines, my 99 vacuum line elbows are starting to rot...use a TB cleaner spray or something, spray around and looks for rpm change.
