EGR regulator supplies Vac to EGR valve.Ford Fuel Injection EGR Vacuum Regulator (EVR) (There should be no Vac at idle/but at 2.5K rpm you should see plenty of Vac)

Yes i rev the engine many times but no vac at the EGR. The Vacuum regulator has a kind of cap, i took it off and its look rusty inside, i sprayed som WD40, but i think is dead.

EGR VAC REG CHECK
Disconnect the wire harness from the EGR Vacuum Regulator. Note which pin the red wire on the harness connected to, this is the positive, If you have a volt meter, turn the ignition on and check here for 12 volts. If you hav 12 volts then get two pieces of wire long enoung to reach the battery, crimp a push on connecter to each and attatch them to the pins on the EGR Vac Regulator. Connect the positive wire to the pos batt term. Disconnect the vac line from the EGR at TB and connect a Vac gauge to this line. Start the engine. When you touch the ground wire to the neg batt term you should get 8-15hg ish of vac.

EGR VALVE CHECK
Disconnect the vac tub that goes from EGR valve on TB to the top nipple of the EGR Vacuum Regulator on the EGR vac regulator side. Connect a vac pump. Start engine, apply vac, engine should start to stumble as EGR opens at about 5hg, if EGR is opperating properly. If your egr is bad, pull it off and press the steel nipple in and clean the corrossion. Add a little lube, connect to the vac pump and see if you can get to start to open around 5-8hg if not replace.
