The Vent Window Studs are being sold on e-bay. YOu just have to search for them. I saw 3 the other day but can't find the link now.

It's a single piece shaped like a "T"

Vent window bolt

I am of the opnion that a regular bolt would not suffice, since the stock bolt has squared shaft that fits inside the eliptical keeper, that regulates the vent travel. Can the bolt be welded; using same sizr thread and graft it to the shaft ? The framed section on the bottom of the vent frame is riveted and can be removed if required, but you probably don't need to.

No Tip you are correct, a stock bolt won't work.

The head needs to be flat enough to fit in the channel under the glass, and the top half of the bolt is square to hold the stops in place. I guess you could weld it but then you'd never be able to get it apart again.

Best to buy the right part - they're out there. As usual, you see them every day until someone needs one!
