Side Trim

I got my hands a new completely rust free bed for my 85 the other day and I want to remove the trim on the sides. I would assume its glued on since all the other trim on fords that I have dealt with is glued. Whats the best way to get it off without leaving a mess?

Some of the Ford side trim has clips, so you will end up with holes when you are done.

Is the side trim down low on the body or up high?

For the 1985 and 1986 models, Ford used an optional upper trim that started below the front marker light and ran the length of the truck. If the bed you have is the upper black vinyl trim with a center "chrome" insert, it is only held on with double stick tape, so there will be no holes in the sheet metal. The best way is to remove it is to use a large, flat razor blade and get behind it.

If the trim is down low, it will be attached to the body with clips, which will leave holes when it is removed.
