02 F250 7.3L w/Edge Powerstroke Juice with Attitude.....here's the issue. Every couple days I'll start the truck and find the check engine light on and NO power to the Edge control box. The truck seems to run fine for about 15 mins or so...than with out any warning I'll have a sudden loss of power, the engine doesn't shut down it just goes to idle and takes a few seconds to recover. At this point the check engine light is out and I now have power to the edge control box. From that point on the truck runs fine. I never have the issue while driving, it only happens at start up? No other issue's....I've had the Edge system for about 4 years now with out any issue's. I've checked all connectors for the edge and all seem okay. We've also checked for engine codes and found none. Any idea's or help would be greatly appreciated.
I would pull your "Edge" and clean the contacts on the PCM. I pulled my PCM apart and used a eraser on a pencil to clean the contacts of all grey/black looking stuff on both sides of the connector then took some Di-electric grease and put a coat on each connect by itself just to avoid any more carbon build up on the connectors. For my old stupid SC which is still better than stock it worked great. Haven't had a problem since and that's what it sounds like, a loose connection.
Disconnecting the Edge was my first thought also but I'm not familiar enough with the system to figure out where it draws current from? First I tried running the truck in the stock mode. That worked for about a week and the same problem resurfaced. Than I tried disconnecting the main wire running from the display module on the dash to the back of the control box under the hood but was unable to do so. The connector seems seized together and I was afraid of damaging the plug by trying to force it apart. Next I disconnected the Edge plug from the ICP and reconnected the stock plug ends. That killed the power to the Edge system but the truck ran like crap. Very rough thru acceleration and no power at highway speed. I did notice that the plug ends on the ICP were oily, could the ICP be part of my issue? I've had the truck to a dealership and would certainly take it back but they don't think they can find the problem unless they can reproduce the issue sitting on their lot and I live just far enough away that the truck "clears" it self before I can get there. If someone can tell me how to correctly kill the power to the Edge system I'll gladly try that.
Take it to the stealership the night before, park it for the night so they can see the problem and read the codes while the chech engine soon light is on.
If you see oil in the connection of the ICP, then you should change it. You had a good run with the Edge for 4 years. Hang around here and learn what we do for making power to these trucks. There are a lot better tuners/chips out there that will be better for your truck.

I appreciate the advice but until yesterday the truck went almost 9 days with out issue.
Went back out this morning and was finally able to disconnect the plug between the display box and the box under the hood. I now have no power to the display so I'm hoping the edge system is dead. Truck started and idled fine and as of right now I don't have a check eng. light. Going out shortly for a test drive? If the truck runs okay I'll give this a try for a week or so and see what happens? Since I'm not pulling a horse trailer anymore I'm really not worried about the damn thing anyway.
I guess I'll go a head and replace the ICP since the plug was oily again this morning.
Just so I'm straight on the ICP .....I have no signs of oil around the sensor it's self, but do have oil in the connector....not a lot just an oily film, should the ICP be replaced?
