done with fords

time to switch. my 06 f-150 trans went out with 40,000 miles on it and ford did nothing. all i've ever owned is fords for 39 years and thought they were the best. after my last 2 trucks 99f-350v10, 06f-1505.4 its time for change. both gm and dodge have WAY more power and better mpg. i'm also a big nascar fan and the fords have sucked for way too long. low on HP. what wins on sunday sells on monday.

tcat, good luck with your Dodge or Chebby. From what I've seen, they break trannies quicker than a Ford. They are also worse about honoring their warranties as well.

I think what these people are hoping for is...

1) OMG! I had better get rid of my Ford and buy a chevy/dodge/whatever right now!!!
or
2) WOW! you are so right! These Fords just suck. And we are so stupid to keep buying them.

Good by then.

I've owned Chevies, Dodges, VWs, Toyotas, Subarus, Pontiacs, and Fords. Sold one Ford, currently own 5 more Fords. Run the crap out of 3 issued CVPIs in my career (11/78-01/10) from late '98 to 01-01-10 (a '98, a '00, a '06). Impressed me with their toughness.

I've owned Chevy(3-so-so), Toyota(3-not as good as they think), Dodge(1-worst by far), and Ford(7). They all had issues at one time or another. My only regret is that I took so long to get to the Fords. They have all held up the longest and been the most reliable by far.

Dealers are like all people, some are jerks and some are honorable. Have fun with your new/different vehicle...

Oh (sorry NASCAR fans) NASCAR has very little to do with what we buy (technologically speaking).

didn't mean to get everyone worked up! i'm just upset because ford wouldn't help out and i have had good luck with ford for so long. i'm a performance nut and upset that fords are getting beat at the track too. have you guys run or driven a comparable gm or dodge. they will crush the ford. hey, still driving mine though.

having owend 2 chevy and a dodge trucks (Im only 22) and i just bought my first ford a few months ago i must say i do like my f150 and i will keep it till i pay it off but i think when is time for a new truck i will go back to a chevy. my 99 chevy with 160k+ miles on it had more power then my 04 f150 with 70k on it dose when pulling trailers. plus the rear on my ford slides sometimes on stutter bumbs going around bends in the road and it just has a rougher ride all around. plus the chevy has a more comfortable and quiter cab.

but i must say i do like my ford and it dose have its pro's. and it could be that im so used to chevys and i maybe having given my f150 enough of a chance yet. all i mean is that every brand has its pro's and con's.

Fords have consistantly been the best sellers for over 30 years. Why? Because they are dependable, well-built trucks. Sure, you can have issues with them or any other truck. But, if what you are looking for is strictly performance, speed, etc. there are other trucks that will be quicker, more horsepower, etc. So buy one of those. With or without you, Ford will continue to be the best selling truck now and in the future.

You sir, are an idiot for coming onto a Ford enthusiast website, trashing Fords, and then wondering why everyone got worked up. Please GTFO.

P.S. If you want speed why would you buy a 6000lb, un-aerodynamic vehicle?
