Im needing to replace the fan clutch on my truck but it seems to be harder then i thought it was going to be so does anyone have any advice on how to remove it? Thanks
What exactly is the problem? Is the engine turning over when you try to loosen the bolt on the clutch shaft?
You can either:
a) Rent a fan clutch removal tool from NAPA, etc. This allows you to grab the pump pulley while you loosen the clutch shaft with a 1 1/8" wrench or a pipe wrench. Standard counterclockwise to loosen.
b) Hit a corner on the clutch shaft bolt with an air chisel and back it off.
