97 psd,I went to crank the motor and wouldn't crank although with the key in the start position ..... where the mileage display is the mileage shortly had another readout of digits, the first number was a G or a backwards 6 and then 88888.88.Is there any significane to this? This has me a wonderin
Not sure about the readout but are you batt. connections and cables good?could have had a bad connection and went to some kind of reset mode for second just throwing thing out there.
Been busy working on this psd with the Superchips 1705 scanner only code p0603,the basic batteries that have been repeatedly disconnected so of course cleared that, replaced all the battery cables neg&pos in system, new batteries (charged @12.7v) code is the p1111(everything okay) turn key ....nothing.As far as Alt have 12 v on B+ side and 3 way plug has 12.7v on A side, here's the interesting part....on the I side i have 3 different alternators that i tested. The first two were 2.7v and the 3rd was 3.8v.This is the Green wire and traced it baclk to the right side fender behind relay where there is some corrosion in the connector.Cleaned connector and about to get a Voltage regulator.Back later this evening with a report. After studying several posts seems like either regulator or pcm is suspect.Dash display is about 10v and battery lamp is illuminated.Tested pins for the pcm and have power going to pin 55 and ground pins 25,51,76,77,91,103
Installed new voltage regulator with brushes, had the same result ,2.7v on the ingition side of alt, cleaned ground for the computer harness on lhs fender wall as well, have 12.6v going to all 4 wires on the ingition switch.Beginning to think the pcm is bad or the ignition switch.
