Computers or solid state controllers did not show up in these trucks until the introduction of the E4OD transmission in 1989.
Computers for Diesel Engine control did not start till the 1994 model year.
I love my 93' 5 speed, not a computer to be found if you don't count the solid state controller for that crappy ABS Brake system that was never designed right in the first place.
