That sucks. I hope you get it back. Mine was stolen in 07 and in the hands of some kids in DC for a week before the cops recovered it. They didn't do any damage until they bailed on the cops and it rolled back into a car bending the tailpipe. They stole one of the batteries, trailer hitch, and some hand tools. They never did check behind the rear seat where the 'real' tools were. I consider myself really lucky.
It is an XL so no chip in the key. They popped the door lock right out of the handle and broke the the ignition so it would start without a key. I drove it like that for months before I had time to get it fixed. There was no visible damage to the steering column and they stole it from a Circuit City in less than 7 minutes in broad day light on a Sunday afternoon.
Man these stolen truck posts (which seems to be regular in the SD forum) make me sick to my stomach. I feel so bad for you guys, I can imagine how sick I would be if it were my truck.
A**hole car thieves tried to get mine a couple of summers ago. Viper stopped them. Lucky for me they were amatures and didn't want to waste a lot of time in a busy parking lot, where I catch the train to work. They did do $1400 worth of damage and the dealer had it for 3 weeks repairing. Now I take the bus from home.
You've got my sympathies. hope you get your truck back.
Had a viper alarm on my f150. Took the wires from the alarm module that went to the horn and wired em to the solenoid on my train horn...neat idea till somebody drove buy with a loud exhaust at 2AM.

I'm sure the neighbors would love that LOL. Mine has no alarm, just doesn't alow the truck to start, unless you have the remote. No remote...no go, even with the key. So far so good. I'm sure a pro could beat it with some time.
Although Excursions aren't high on the list, it's the prime reason why I had a good 2-way pager alarm system installed. It actually saved my truck after it was broken into at the Galleria mall.
Sincerely hope you get yout truck back , but sometimes with everything that's happened to it, you don't want it back.
