I recently bought a 1978 Ranger Lariet Camper Special and I was wondering what engine(s) they original came with. The guy said it had a 460 but I can't tell if it is just by looking at it. It didn't feel like a 460 (power wise).
On my 1978 f250 camper special my auxiliary tank doesn't read. Filled it up and the main tank reads fine but the auxilary tank reads empty. What part do I need to look at or replace?
On my 1978 f250 camper special my defroster blows good hot air but the windshield fogs up easily. I have to run the defrost on high all the time and crack the window and still only 1/2 of the windshield will stay clear and not fog up. Suggestions??
Is the air coming out of the defrost damp/steamy? If there's a leak in your heater core, you'd just be blowing warm damp air on the windshield, which will cause it to fog up

i have a '77 camper special and it came with the 460.
Not all F250 Camper Specials had the Dayton dual piston front calipers. It really depended on the weight rating. Only the 6800 lb and up trucks did. The below 6800 lb truck shared the single piston calipers the f100's and F150's had. I had a 78 F250 Custom Camper Special, it had a 6200 lb weight rating, it had a 351M, c6 trans, all the gauges, low mount swing out mirrors, extra cool radiator, dual gas tanks, dual horns, 60 amp alternator, dual sway bars, and Camper Special badges. It did NOT have overload springs, dual piston calipers, or even power steering. It really didn't seem that special to me....
My 76 F250 Custom Super Cab Trailer Special , has a 8100 lb weight rating, 390 4 barrel, c6 trans, Dana 60 rear diff with 3:73:1 gears, full gauge pack, extra cooling,
Dual tanks, factory a/c, power steering, dual piston calipers, wide western mirrors. I added overloads to it and swapped the the mirrors with the 78, and stole the sway bars off of the 78, as well as the dual horns. So it's now basically a Trailer-Camper Special.
