Ok so im pretty sick of sifting though 50 pages of back and forth banter about Dana 44 swaps. All im looking for is simple instructions on how to do a D44 straight axle swap into my 89 F150. Im not building a monster, i just need something different and stronger. I have a front end lined up from a 78 F150 so i just need some guidance. What parts will i need to buy, what can i fab and where can i look when i get stumped. when i do the swap (in 2 weeks) im completely rebuilding the front end and adding some moog 844s, if possible. i just want to clear some 35's and i dont mind trimming the body. Im a farmboy on a budget and i have all the basic tools and a welder at hand and a couple FBHs if the going gets rough.
just a stab in the dark but maybe if you looked in the tech sticky at the top of the page you'd find a couple build threads. I think 9.ford.5 has a pretty good one with pics.
If searching is too much work maybe the axle swap is also.
