I've had my '03 Super Cab into the dealer and had all four doors realigned a month ago. Now the doors (gaskets?) are squawking on roads with only minor surface imperfections, and forget about speed-bumps! (Yes Mil1ion, it goes away when I turn up the stereo)
I'm due for servicing soon, but would like to know if any of you have experienced this before I go back to the dealer.
I forgot to mention the paint is being worn off the upper "latch pin" in the roof, and I'm thinking this might be a sign the latch is not closing properly.
I'll try the silicone spray tonight. That should give me a week or so before I plan on taking it in.
Seems a shame that I have to "grease" a truck that's less than four months old tho'
I think "greasing" the door gaskets is an on-going thing. In fact, my owners manual (non-Ford ) has it as a maintenance item. I know it really helps with the supercab squeaks.
It's a silicon based lubricant designed for door latches and pins. It comes in a stick (the packaging is blue and red) and looks kinda like wax. Just rub it onto all the weatherstripping.
I haven't had any squawking since I did this almost a year ago.
