Put it like this... Clay @ Riff Raff saw pics of what i had to do with mine to make it work and was going to have MBRP build me something different, but i never heard back on that and i haven't bothered Clay with it any more either. Mine is slowly developing a hole from where it's rubbing. It rubs too many places to name them all, but oddly enough it's NOT rubbing on the firewall seam after me and Cody got after it with a porta power.. Oh and pay attention. if your using the factory cat connection point to the downpipe then you will have to cut the factory connection off the stock downpipe and weld it to the MBRP pipe.. i also saw ZERO performance gain, no difference in exhaust tone, and no difference in EGT's with this pipe... it's a POS IMO and next time i will get one from Dale @ Tymar OR a grand rock pipe like Jim stated..
wow im sorry to hear. mine doesnt rub anywhere and fit in prefectly. i feel a slight gain in power... and it runs alot smoother. my exhaust note got quite abit louder as well. as far as egt's i might have dropped 50 degrees. i think you may have got a "monday or friday" down pipe.
(monday - dont wanna be at work.. its monday, come on!) and (friday- ready for the weekend and dont care enough to biuld it right)
I bought a turbo-back MBRP and put it in a couple of years ago.
It was about as far from a "drop-in" or "trouble free" installation as could be. I easily spent 5 hours trying to get it to line up right and numerous calls to the seller assured me I had the right set of pipes.
I finally gave up and took it took my local shop and paid them a hundred to put it on. Even he ended up having to dimple the pipe in one spot to make it fit (over the cross-member iirc).
I'll not buy anything MBRP again.

I think the only reason clay sells them is because he didn't have any other idea's who to buy, cause MBRP is advertised a lot, and because they are cheap.
I don't even know who makes mine. *shrugs*
All this time I've had my truck down, I should have sent it off to be ceramiced. haha.
I still cannot figure out where you dent the firewall. haha.
I looked and looked with the trans out, and no idea.
Its a tight fit with my pipe though. Finally got it out though the top for the first time this last time. I've had to take it out with the trans the last few times. Man o man, do you have to have the angle of the dangle right as well as 30 other factors, jesus.
Well the pipe has to be better then the stock pancake pipe. Also the connector for the turbo end, I can grind on it and get it to work. Secondly its going in my project truck so I can fab up and make it work.

would you like me to take a pic of were your suppose to "dent" it?

Sounds like my install, and it's still not 100% right. The flange does not seal completely at the turbo, and the dp still contacts the firewall under certain conditions. And I 'clearanced' the firewall at least one full inch.
I'm debating my next move...
Tymar 3-4 inch. Mine fits perfect, costs a little more but well worth it in the long run. It was so easy to install I did the whole exhaust, removing the old downpipe and exhaust and installing the new pipe, and straightpiped exiting in front of the rear tire in one saturday morning by myself.
I got kind of lucky when ordering as I just came on here learning about these. I just happened to pick this one, not knowing anything. Glad I did.

i was running my stock downpipe with tuning, stage 1 injectors, etc. and i still noticed no difference at all when i switched... you'd think it would at least lower the EGT's after looking at the stock downpipe, but it didn't even do that. I know it's just exhaust and you almost never feel the difference with exhaust systems, but with all the raving about the downpipe waking up ppls trucks i expected to feel a little something when i did it.. oh and a 20 minute job turned into a 3 hour job just b/c of the design of the MBRP pipe... You can try to go cheap on everything, but guess what? it will either bite you in the a$$ or you will spend wayy too much time trying to make it all work... i know your just looking for the cheapest stuff you can find and that's all good, but cheapest isn't always good...
Well I blame Obama's *** for me being a tight wad still waiting on my 1 of 3 BILLION jobs. =) Plus I dont mind spending time making things work. Anyone can swap parts, few can work parts. I rather be known for having a bad as truck cause I spent way to much time on it then a bad *** truck I spent way to much money on.
