Afternoon all!!! And yes its now tied 1-1... But it was a good game... Its going to get even tougher as the series goes on...
Yeah, good game, Aaron. That danged Allen just kept getting wide open shots and he picked a good time to go hot. I was pretty sure the Lakers had it figured out when they won the 3rd quarter, but then Bryant had to play with one arm behind his back for the entire 4th. Ya hate to let a home game get away like that, because now you have to win 1 in Bahstin.
Ever make what seems like an intelligent decision at the time to try to save a few bucks... only to have it bite you in the *** the same week?
I don't like the wife's car, but decided that putting tires on it is still cheaper than a car payment. (I won't buy garbage tires, especially when my wife's safety will be depending on them on a daily basis.)
I always take advantage of the opportunity to check everything out any time the car is on a lift. Found bad bushings and ball joints and motor mounts.... did them myself for $500 in parts, saving the extra grand the stealership would have charged for labor.
Brought it in for an alignment afterwards, to realize that the tie rod ends are toast and Dodge (we'd never have owned one if she didn't have it before we met... and yes, I realize that "Dodge" is probably what's most wrong with the damn car ) did not see fit to supply a way to adjust the camber from the factory... meaning that it's probably never been right... and I get to buy a couple more parts.
At any rate - the alignment should be done and it'll be ready to pick up in the next hour or so... but I'm left with the sickening realization that I just spent half the cars value on maintenance.
In the car's defense, my wife drives the sh.. out of it, CA roads beat the sh.. and these are all parts that lasted 80k under harsh conditions... but even having just spent money on it, I'm still thinking that when I get back from another 3 months of military training might be a great time to trade it in... if it doesn't already need more money dumped into it. At this point, while I can't afford something else, I don't know that I can afford to not have something else either.
Mostly just whining - this round has convinced me to do something about it ... so as soon as I can afford... it's gone.
The irony here is that I recently did most of the same stuff to my SD... and felt like I was getting away with something because it gave me an excuse to spend a weekend or two under the truck turning wrenches. Then again, I love my truck... so I'm biased.
Anyone make it out to RRW? I'm still sad I didn't make it.

That right there is the key. It is almost always cheaper to fix them than to make payments. As long as it is dependable and safe, you can convince yourself you did the right thing.
Wives are real nice to you for a very short time after you buy them a new car. A very short time.
There were a ton of questionable calls in that game, going both ways.
Caught the tail end of the game on a friend's Tivo so we could rewind every time we saw a bad call... some of which were pretty amazing. The Tivo screwed up with about 1 min on the clock - I don't think I've ever seen my friend so angry at his own TV.
Good to see you too Steve. I missed you guys while I was at boot. I read diesel and 4x4 magazines on the flight out and spent most of the night before reading up on posts - gave me enough to think about to keep me entertained thinking about it until just before graduation. Thanks again to everyone here for so many great posts. I'll have internet for the rest of training, so I'll be around more.I need to head over to the RRW thread to hound people for more pics.

It's a shame that the officials think that they ae the show. Agreed...there have been some awful calls...both ways. It's up to the players to adjust to that...and...play the game. As I said before...may the best team win.
