The story of yesterday, and the dreaded attic.
7am: I roll up to the job, typical colonial. The job was to wire a new heat pump system that was being installed. The first thing the HVAC contractor does in drag two 12" insulated flex ducts and a heavy gauge cord up the side of the house and in through a window. I was puzzled, but they are the professionals, what do I know. The guy rolls out this 4' x 4' x 2' box out of his trailer and plops it on the ground next to the ducts. WITW?
The dude connects the two ducts, and plugs this thing in, and I was in shock! I run up to the second floor, and the two ducts are sticking out of the ceiling on the second floor, out of two of the register vents they cut in.
The box was a combination air handler and AC condenser. He ties the cord into the panel normally, but there was a spare circuit in the attic that I used for the air handler that they tied it into.
By 8am, the attic was a cool 70 degrees, and it stayed that was all day. This HVAC guy FTMFW!!!! I wanna go out and buy one and have it on all my summer attic jobs!
